What began life as the de Havilland DH.125 Jet Dragon was a leader in the first tranche of business jet designs that emerged in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Like a number of its counterparts, it came to be known by a plethora of names and designations as the ownership of its design changed hands. Although no longer in production, the type—in its most recent Hawker 800/850/900 guises—remains an important part of the business jet scene.

Business Jet Traveler ran into Formula 1 racer Nico Hülkenberg last month at NBAA-BACE 2024 in Las Vegas.

In this video, he had a few minutes to chat about flying privately and how it helps him perform better as an athlete while also saving time during the busy F1 racing season.

I was reviewing the limitations section of the Pilatus PC-24 flight manual before my evaluation flight for this pilot report. Maximum ramp weight: 18,400 pounds. Maximum takeoff weight: 18,300 pounds. Useful load: 6,880 pounds. Maximum pothole depth 1.37 inches (35 mm) with a maximum diameter of 39 inches, and  maximum grass height three inches.  Potholes, grass height?

When was the last time you had to consider the size of potholes or grass height on runways when flying a jet? Unless you are flying a PC-24, it probably never crossed your mind.

Three years after Honda announced its plans to produce an eVTOL aircraft for intercity travel, the Japanese carmaker is apparently preparing to fly its first prototype.

While Honda has kept its eVTOL program under tight wraps, FAA records indicate that the U.S. air safety regulator recently granted an exemption to Honda Research Institute that would allow the company to fly a subscale prototype experimentally for research and development purposes.

Austrian company F/List is getting closer to nature as it applies new materials and production processes to equip the cabins of business aircraft like the Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24.

Customers are discovering the benefits of upcycling for a smaller carbon footprint and an attractive look and feel. In this video, Business Jet Traveler takes a closer look at the new materials.

JetZero now has a complete set of partnership arrangements with flight control system suppliers for its planned blended-wing-body (BWB) demonstrator aircraft. On November 5, Thales became the latest strategic supplier selected by the California-based start-up, with the French aerospace group set to provide its fly-by-wire flight control system.

According to JetZero, confirmation of the key systems suppliers clears the way for it to complete construction of a technology demonstrator it aims to start flight testing in 2027. Launching the BWB design at the 2023 Paris Air Show, the company said the 250-seat airliner could enter service in the early 2030s with an intercontinental range of about 5,000 nm.

Ten fatal accidents involving U.S.-registered business turboprops and jets claimed the lives of 26 crew and passengers in the first nine months versus 12 accidents and 42 fatalities in the same period last year, according to data compiled by AIN. In both comparable periods, three fatal accidents occurred under Part 135, while the rest were under Part 91. Incidents also declined and no accidents or incidents were reported under Part 91K fractional operations in the 2023 and 2024 nine-month timeframes.

However, non-fatal accidents of U.S.-registered turbine business airplanes climbed to 24 in the first nine months versus 20 in the first three quarters of 2023. Four accidents of N-numbered business jets during the first nine months resulted in 11 fatalities.
