| October 28, 2026 Wednesday Archangel Ascends: Special Missions Falcon 8X Delivered The French air and space force has officially taken delivery of its first Dassault Falcon 8X-based “Archange” signals intelligence (SIGINT) aircraft. The first such aircraft arrived at Évreux Air Base in north France, Dassault said yesterday. Following military trials with France’s military air expertise center, CEAM, the aircraft will enter operational service with the onsite Airborne Electronic “Dunkerque” Squadron. The Avions de Renseignement à CHArge utile de Nouvelle GÉnération (Archange) program calls for three modified Falcon 8Xs to enhance the French air force’s SIGINT capabilities. The service explained that “its mission is to collect and analyze adversary electromagnetic emissions to improve understanding of their deployment and operational environment.” The delivery and acceptance ceremony follows the inaugural unit’s first flight, conducted from Dassault Aviation’s facility in Bordeaux-Mérignac and announced by the French defense procurement agency (DGA) on July 28. The missionized business jets will succeed the French air and space force’s two Transall C-160G “Gabriel” aircraft, delivered to the squadron in 1989 and retired in 2022. In 2019, the DGA awarded a contract to Dassault Aviation and primary electronics partner Thales to equip two Falcon 8Xs with a Thales-developed Universal Electronic Warfare Capability (CUGE) SIGINT suite. At the time, DGA had expected the system would reach initial operational capability in 2025. Read more U.S. CDC Issues Ebola Form Mandate for Pax and Crew Due to the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Africa, starting November 4, all aircraft operators with flights inbound to the U.S. from any foreign country must have passengers and crew fill out a new Ebola form from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The agency is mandating passengers and crew to attest that they have not been to the Democratic Republic of the Congo/Congo-Kinshasa in the past three weeks. Aircraft operators must then collect either a physical or digital form and retain it for six weeks. According to flight-planning information firm OpsGroup, this requirement will apply to passengers and crew from all aviation segments—airline, charter, business aviation, and private—with the same form used by all. The CDC noted that willfully providing false or misleading information may lead to criminal fines and imprisonment. The only exemptions, as detailed by the health agency, are for aircraft operators transporting Ebola patients under U.S. government authorization and in accordance with CDC guidance, and for individuals granted a CDC exemption based on humanitarian or other important government considerations. Given the short notice of implementation, the issuance and retention process may prove burdensome for some operators. OpsGroup suggests operators create an in-house digital process to manage the procedure. Signature Aviation Offers Advanced Pricing ‘Access’ Signature Aviation has launched Signature Access, a new program aimed at making private aviation ground service pricing more predictable for FBO customers. Developed with input from facility users, Access consolidates core access-related charges, based on aircraft size, time on ramp, and terminal location, into a single simplified price. At the FBO chain’s continental U.S. locations, eligible fuel purchases entitle guests to a first-hour ramp waiver. Optional services, such as hangar accommodations, GPU, and lavatory services, remain available separately. Ahead of their visits, customers can use the Signature Access estimator to help understand expected FBO costs earlier in the planning process. As part of this initiative, Signature will limit the imposition of special event fees to a smaller number of high-demand events such as the Super Bowl; the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship in Las Vegas; Art Basel in Miami Beach; the US Open Tennis Championships and United Nations General Assembly in New York; and select Formula 1 race weekends. The company noted that it will continue to evaluate events based on extraordinary demand levels and will communicate any applicable locations and pricing at least 30 days in advance. Read more PC-12 Training Device Lands in Thunder Bay, Ontario Air charter operator Air Bravo can now train PC-12 pilots at its facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where One-G Simulation has installed a Swiss12 advanced aviation training device (AATD) modeled on the turboprop single. The Swiss12 device received its initial FAA letter of authorization as an AATD in 2017. This installation is the Seattle company’s first in Canada. Air Bravo has ordered a second device for the Cessna 408 SkyCourier; in 2025, the operator took the first SkyCourier delivered in Canada. One-G matched the device to the PC-12s that Air Bravo flies, down to their installed avionics. Pilots can use the AATD for procedures, systems management, and abnormal and emergency scenarios, subject to the operator’s training requirements and applicable regulatory approvals, including those from Transport Canada. Hardware includes aerodynamically-driven force-feedback yokes, linked rudder pedals with toe brakes, a fully functional overhead panel, a crew alerting system panel, and visuals projected onto a curved screen. From One-G’s instructor operator station, instructors set aircraft position, weather, and system failures. “A PC-12 operator shouldn’t have to send pilots out of province for every recurrent event,” said One-G founder and CEO Xylon Saltzman. “Because we build the hardware and software ourselves, we could match this device to Air Bravo’s aircraft and put that training in their own hangar.” Sponsor Content: Wilson Air Center Wilson Air Center Celebrates 30 Years of Exceptional Service What began in Memphis in 1996 with a vision to bring genuine hospitality to aviation has grown into a 30-year legacy. Read more Nigerian Bizav Show Aims To Channel Industry Growth Nigeria’s growing business aviation sector is preparing to raise its profile with a relaunched trade show next year. The Nigerian Business Aviation Conference (NBAC) will be staged in the country’s main commercial city, Lagos, from May 4 to 5, 2027—10 years after the event was last held. Business aviation services group EAN Aviation is organizing NBAC 2027 under the theme “One Sky, Many Stakeholders.” The event is expected to attract around 200 senior industry executives from aircraft operators, manufacturers, and finance/leasing groups across the continent, as well as regulators and prospective investors. According to the WingX Global Market Tracker, Africa was the world’s fastest-growing business aviation region in 2025, with departures increasing by 15% versus 5% global growth. Nigeria recorded 49,586 business aviation departures between January 2019 and May 2026, representing 19% of the African total. Lagos Murtala Muhammed International (DNMM) and the capital's Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International (DNAA) ranked as the continent’s two busiest airports for business aviation. Overall, 80% of Nigerian business aviation flight activity has been domestic. “We have seen a lot of business activity happening in the West African region,” EAN chairman Segun Demuren told AIN. “We felt that it is a very good time to reassemble and discuss the growth of business aviation.” Read more Bristow Inaugurates AW139 Full-flight Sim at Aberdeen Bristow Group pilots can now train on a new AW139 level-D simulator at the company’s simulation hall in Dyce, Aberdeen, near Scotland’s Aberdeen International Airport (EGPD). The simulator was developed by the Leonardo and CAE Rotorsim joint venture, which includes an AW189 full-flight simulator at the Aberdeen Training Centre, in addition to six classrooms serving Bristow oil-and-gas and search-and-rescue crews. “We are delighted to see the AW139 simulator now installed at our Aberdeen Training Centre,” said Bristow head of UK training Nigel Piercey. “This new simulator will provide a tremendous capability for supporting pilots as they train on the AW139 aircraft, delivering mission-critical services for our UK and international customers.” Bristow built the Aberdeen Training Centre to be close to its “crucial areas of operations,” which, according to the company, include the North Sea and regional communities for search-and-rescue operations. “Training and simulation technologies are essential enablers to guarantee maximized benefits from customers’ helicopter use and to consistently raise the bar of operational safety,” said Fabrizio Peano, Leonardo Helicopters v-p of simulation and training services. “We’re excited to celebrate this latest result together, and we look forward to supporting Bristow and other potential users as they begin to use this new device.” Clemens Aviation and Alto Modernize Falcon 900EX Cabin Passengers are getting a modern in-flight entertainment experience with a Falcon 900EX EASy upgrade by Clemens Aviation. According to the company, the latest version of its platform offers simplicity and “genuine transparency across every premium option,” allowing users to more realistically assess their travel options. “Travel buyers have never been able to see these two options side-by-side, as a result positioning charter as a luxury exception rather than a policy option,” said SkyReserve CEO Hampton Bridwell. He believes this insight will help companies assess whether the total trip cost, as well as time saved, could make charter a preferable alternative. According to SkyReserve, its proprietary model is able to provide bookable charter trip quotes at the speed of a commercial fare search, something it said the market has not offered until now. When integrated with commercial premium airline cabin options from Fareladder, this feature is designed to provide realistic choices for travelers. SkyReserve said this approach is a move forward from existing private charter quoting, with “manual and slow quotes” for fluctuating pricing “nearly impossible to compare side-by-side” with airline alternatives. More than 400 U.S.-operated charter aircraft are now represented on the company’s platform. RECENT AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES AD NUMBER: Transport Canada CF-2026-56 MFTR: Bell MODEL(S): 429 Requires removing cyclic click stop assembly P/N 429-001-357-101 and replacing it with a newer-design assembly (P/N 429-001-357-103) that introduces a revised aft cyclic stick limit. Prompted by a report of a main rotor blade contacting the tail rotor driveshaft cover during hover. A subsequent investigation found that high amplitude, rapid fore-and-aft cyclic stick inputs in hover increase the risk of rotor-to-airframe contact. If not corrected, rapid fore-and-aft cyclic stick inputs in hover may lead to loss of tail drive as a result of rotor-to-airframe contact. PUBLISHED: October 27, 2026 EFFECTIVE: November 10, 2026   AD NUMBER: Brazil ANAC 2026-10-01 MFTR: Embraer MODEL(S): Phenom 300E Requires a one-time inspection of the rudder trim tab control system and any necessary replacement of the attachment parts of the yaw trim actuator and/or rudder trim tab surface hinge pin; yaw trim actuator and its mechanism; and/or rudder trim tab surface. Prompted by a report that some newly manufactured Phenom 300Es may have been released with rudder trim control system backlash test results beyond the permissible limits due to an error in production-line testing. Excessive backlash and the loss of one load path in the rudder trim tab control system may result in a limit cycle oscillation phenomenon, exposing the surrounding structure and systems to unacceptable vibration levels and reduced airplane controllability.
