The FAA has issued a Part 135 air carrier and operator certificate to Archer Aviation, permitting the eVTOL manufacturer to begin on-demand commercial air taxi operations. Eve Air Mobility has appointed more suppliers for its eVTOL aircraft, including the windows, doors, and other elements of the fuselage. KRD Luftfahrttechnik in Germany will provide polycarbonate windows, and French aerostructures group Latécoère will supply the doors. Brazilian suppliers Rallc and Alltec will provide molds and composite materials for various fuselage components.

European helicopter operator Avincis is partnering with Airbus to develop plans for eVTOL operations, especially for emergency medical services, search and rescue, and firefighting. The companies launched the collaboration in early June, publishing examples of how the Ann family of aircraft could offer alternatives to helicopters, cars, trains, and ferries on domestic routes in Italy.

As it steps up flight testing in its campaign to secure FAA type certification for its Midnight four-passenger eVTOL aircraft, Archer has been extending the operational envelope. This week, the company released a video showing a test aircraft transitioning from vertical to horizontal cruise flight at speeds above 100 mph.
